MoH: Three and Four Years Old Children May Soon Get Vaccinated, Fourth Dose to Start in 2022
PHNOM PENH: The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Youk Sambath has said that children three and four years old my soon be allowed to get vaccinated against Covid-19. That is with the guidance of the Prime Minister. She has stated during the arrival of the 290,400 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine through the Covax mechanism.
She says, “Sinovac has already proven its effectiveness and safety, and China is now vaccinating Sinovac to children three years of age and older.” Previously, Prime Minister Hun Sen has instructed the Ministry of Health and other health authorities to examine the possibility of vaccinating Covid-19 to the young children which will enable them to return to school.
She has also confirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia has already issued a proclamation to local companies and will continue to work with the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia and Chinese companies in relation to the project to build a vaccine factory in Cambodia. She gave a hint that the talk may begin next week.
On the WHO’s side, Cambodia’s Representative Dr. Li Ailan says, "Cambodia is a lucky country with a strong leadership that eliminates the shortage of vaccines. The people themselves.
